Ho-Ho-Ho! The Holidays are here!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells!

The holidays are upon us! My favorite time of year... also the most Wonderful! I'm excited about getting a tree- a nine footer, just like last year.

It's the hap-happiest season of all!

I've been wearing my slippers to sleep! And even though it never snows (it snowed in February. FEBRUARY of all times!), I'm still finding myself snuggling with a teddy bear and sipping hot cocoa past midnight. (Shh, no one knows!)

But the holidays are my favorite time of year. Especially since this is both Beatrice's and my first Christmas. I remember workers taking a break, leaving me and all the other non-bought dolls to sit in shelves (or in boxes if some unlucky parent was too late to purchase in time for even rush shipping.), watching the lights go off. It wasn't lonely, but I remember asking to take multiple Ibuprofen when I got out of my box.

So what're your holiday plans?

Some (Bad) Photos

While I was getting up, I grabbed the digital camera. I must admit, I am bad at photos. So here's me! It's my new profile picture.

All but the last one were taken indoors, on a not-so-sunny day, with a flash. The last one was indoors, with no flash on.

In other news, my Human is utterly confused. She can't decide on a doll if her life depended on it. She told me not to ask for help, but I can't resist.

Her list:

Elizabeth
#14
#19
#33
#49
$48
Julie
#23
#4

So leave in the comments (or not) who should be my new Best Friend!

Lovely News!

YAY! The camera's been found. I am a terrible photographer. I admit it! The camera's from maybe 2004, so it's not the shiniest camera around.

I managed to take some photos while I was getting ready for today. They're terrible, and I need a camera class. All your wonderful photos make me so envious!

It's felt like a while sine I posted.

Yes, I've had some mistakes... like the birthday thing. I keep getting it confused with Beatrice's. Hers is January 14th.

Some Thoughts....

Hello, dolls. Yes, pun intended. I'm sorry for the random posts, I'm not sure what the heck I was thinking.

But I've had some thoughts. I'm not sure when these thoughts came up! But here goes:

Okay. Girl of the Year. Is she going to be blond? Again? I can't help but wonder what she's going to be like. I've read her dossier, but I still have no idea who she is.

Archiving: I'm not sure if I'm ready to let go of Elizabeth and Felicity. I've got nothing from their collection, and I've only read one lousy book! (I apologize. The books aren't lousy. I'm a little sad.) Still, what's the need for new dolls? We got Julie & Ivy! Isn't that enough? I don't see the need for another historical when these two have been much loved.

The World According To Me

At this time in my (new) life, I would like to take a moment and look back in retrospect.

My life has been so short! Not that I'm expecting it to end, or drastically change for that matter. I'm just caught in the moment, thinking about things.

First of all, I'm getting a friend. My Human is staying on what she calls a "budget". So, alas, I can't get all the stuff I want. She says she's slowing down with the dolls, so I should expect some clothing for her birthday. That's right, HERS. Mine's on February 2nd, so I'm pretty disappointed about that. I get squat. I hope I get a cake, though.

I'm probably going to post more today, but I'm just letting my Thanksgiving digest a little.

And by the way, my Human enrolled me in school! I'm so happy!

-Sophia

Happy Thanksgiving!

I don't know about you, but my family has Thanksgiving lunch.

But today, friends, is Thanksgiving. And we're celebrating the things we have.

What are you thankful for?

I'm thankful for life.

Bubble-y Wrap!

This, my friends, is the glorious bubble wrap. I was wrapped in this on my way to my Human's home. I was popping it like crazy when I got bored. I would pop 10 a day. So I popped a lot. You can ask her!

"It's right. She did." (My Human wasn't too into the conversation.)

So, if you're ever stuck in a box, then have some fun! I've come up with some fun ideas with bubble wrap!

1) The headdress: Manage to get out of you box. Then, tear a piece big enough to fit around your head. Find tape or a rubber band to secure it in place.

2) Gloves. Just like the headdress, but use tape instead. Fit them around your hands.

3) A calender! Just presume the days. I think you can, I did! So pop one row every day to make a calender. I managed to get to 6 before my human unwrapped me on her birthday.

Yes, this is quite odd. This is what you should expect from a new dolly, right?

Arrivederci!

-Sophia

Never. Do. This. Ever.

As a practical joke, some of the Tolly Tots dared me to eat a raw cranberry.

All I can say is: Leah, I'm out to get you.

NEW BEST FRIEND?!

Yes, you've read me right. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a (secret) best friend! I was listening to my human ramble on and on to her mama, and I think I'm right! Plus, I got pretty bored, so I dug through her stuff and saw the name of my BFF!

I happen to love the name she chose. But I don't know what she looks like. I hope she's got curly hair! (I might've overheard that part, too!)

My Human's doodled it all over notebook paper, which surprises me since she is secretive. She didn't tell me my name at first!

It looks like:

Lydia or
Erin

I personally like Lydia more.... but it depends on the personality....

First Posting

Welcome to my blog! My name's Sophia Ruby Rosenthal, but mostly people call me Sophie. I'm 11, almost 12 (on February 2, I will be!), and an American Girl doll #25. I'm Russian, though my name isn't really that traditional.

I'm a homeschooled girl, though recently, my Human enrolled me in Morningstar Girls' Academy. It's going well so far.

Would you like to hear some Russian? Я не могу говорить Россию на всех!

I shouldn't tell you what that means, just in case you know a few words in Russian. But, for those of you who have not the slightest clue what I just said, I present to you: THIS

It's the best invention since the computer, where I can interact with all my new friends!

So, I must go. But I leave you with parting words:

До свидания!
